Armenia’s commercial banks purchase over $78.6mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, September 2. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased more than $78.6mln at a weighted average rate of 405.60drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on August 26-30, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 6.8mln euros and over 787.1mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 540.19drams per €1 and 12.16drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $93.4mln, about €11.1mln and about 103.3mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 406.61drams, 542.76drams and 12.31drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (August 19-25) totalled 36.8bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $34.1mln. ($1=406.24drams).–0–
