Team of VTB Bank (Armenia) takes part in VIII Spartakiada in Moscow

YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. On September 14, the team of VTB Bank (Armenia) took part in VIII Spartakiada (sporting contests) in Moscow, the bank’s press office told ARKA News Agency.

Some 1,100 contenders from 30 teams took part in this sport event. They represented 15 VTB Group companies from 14 countries – Russia, Austria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Germany, Georgia, Azerbaijan, India, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Ukraine and France.

They competed in mini football, volleyball, street ball, family races, field-and-track events, kettle bell lifting, darts, chess, mini golf, bowling, paintball, carting and cheerleading.

VTB Bank (Armenia) has sent its representatives to Moscow for mini football, field-and-track, chess and volleyball contests.

The bank’s Arsen Naghdalyan, came third in chess tournament among 27 representatives of VTB Group companies.

Professional athletes attended the award ceremony. Roman Berezovski, the goalkeeper and the captain of Armenia’s national football team and also the goalkeeper of Moscow’s Dinamo FC; Kseniya Afanasyeva, captain of Russia’s national athletic gymnastics team; Dmitry Savostin, Silk Way Rally winner; Yuri Zhirkov, a footballer at Moscow’s Dinamo FC, and hockey players Konstantin Kosyanchuk and Roman Derlyuk were among them.

Andrey Kostin, VTB Group president and chairman of the board, speaking at the ceremony, stressed the importance of Spartakiada and said that this event gives an opportunity to VTB Group’s employees to feel they are a team not only at their workplaces.

“Spartakiada is not only sport results, and not only competition for showing who is stronger and more agile – people see that our bank work across the world, and when we gather, an amazing feeling of unity and sport holiday come over us,” said Vasily Titov, the first deputy president and chairman of the VTB Bank.

VTB Bank Armenia joined VTB Group in April 2004. VTB, the second largest bank of Russia, holds 100% of shares of VTB Bank (Armenia).
