Armenian banks’ time deposits rise by 17.9% in nine months to 704.4 bln drams

YEREVAN, November 15. /ARKA/. Armenia’s banks’ time deposits from individuals and private entrepreneurs saw a 17.9% percent rise in the third quarter compared to the beginning of the year, to about 704.4 billion drams as of September 30.

Interim financial statements of the banks for the third quarter show Russian-owned VTB Bank (Armenia) had the largest size of time deposits and accounted for 11% of all time deposits (over 78 billion drams, a 31.8% increase against the beginning of the year).

The other banks on the top five list were as follows: Unibank (about 75.8bln drams, 15.22% increase compared to the beginning of the year), Ardshininvestbank (over 64.8bln drams, 17.83% increase), Ameriabank (61.9bln drams, 32% increase), ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK (61.3bln drams, 22.36% increase).

According to ARKA numbers, the total amount of all deposits of physical persons and legal entities in Armenian banks stood at 1. 363.8 billion drams as of September 30. The banks’ aggregated liabilities stood at more than 2. 274.6 billion drams. ($ 1=405.63drams). -0 –
