Dollar-dram exchange transactions totaling $18.84 million made at NASDAQ OMX Armenia last week

YEREVAN, July 29. /ARKA/. Dollar-dram exchange transactions made at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange over a period between July 21 and 25 totaled $18.84 million ($1= 406.66 drams, on average) against $21.2 million a week before, the press office of the Central Bank of Armenia reports.

No deals on the euro and Russian rubles were effected here last week.
NASDAQ OMX Armenia (former Armenian Stock Exchange, Armex), was established in 2001 as a voluntary merger of broker (dealer) companies.

In early November 2007, the stock market was reorganized into an open joint stock company.
In January 2008, Nordic exchange operator OMX Group acquired 100% of shares of the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) and in June 2009 it became the sole shareholder of the Central Depository of Armenia (CDA). After NASDAQ and OMX merged in March 2008, Armex and CDA have become fully owned by the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc.

On November 7, 2005, the Central Bank of Armenia provided a license authorizing the stock exchange to hold forex auctions. ($1 – AMD 406.52). —0—
