Net profits of Armenia’s insurance companies AMD 1 642.4 million in Jan-June 2014

YEREVAN, August 4. /ARKA/. The aggregate net profits of Armenia’s insurance companies amounted to AMD 1 642.4 million in Jan-June 2014 against AMD 552.8 million in the same period a year earlier, according to the fresh issue of ARKA News Agency’s quarterly bulletin “Insurance Companies of Armenia”.

Remarkable is that six of the seven insurance companies operating in Armenia accounted for profits in late June, and only Sil Insurance, sustained losses that totaled AMD 88.38 million, while in the same period a year before the company earned AMD 14 million in profits.

Rosgosstrakh-Armenia, with its AMD 437.1 million gained in Jan-June 2014 against AMD 289.7 million in Jan-June 2013, is topping ARKA News Agency’s ranking.

Ingo Armenia, with AMD 403.6 million against AMD 81.2 million, is the second biggest profit-gainer.

These two companies are followed by Garant-Limens that earned AMD 304 million in the two first quarters of this year, but lost AMD 140.38 million in Jan-June 2013.

Nairi Insurance came fourth in ARKA News Agency’s ranking – it gained AMD 229.6 million in Jan-June 2014 against AMD 261.28 million in Jan-June 2013, Reso fifth ( AMD 195.9 million profit in Jan-June 2014 against AMD 93.8 million loss in Jan-June 2013), Armenia Insurance sixth (AMD 160.45 million profit against AMD 140.7 million profits).

Armenia’s insurance companies ended the year 2013 in losses totaling AMD 933 million, and the year 2012 in profits amounting to AMD 525.4 million.

Their assets totaled AMD 43 billion in the first half of 2014 and liabilities AMD 27.8 billion and their capital amounted to AMD 15.2 billion. ($1 – AMD 406.82). —0—
