Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $78.6 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, September 1. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $78.6mln at a weighted average rate of 409.57drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on August 25- 29, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, over 7.2mln euros and about 963.5mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 539.02 drams per €1 and 11.23 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $94.6mln, about €12mln and 93.3mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 410.73drams, 543.45drams and 11.38drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (August 18-24) totalled about 42.3bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $36.9mln. ($1=411.23drams). –0–
