Central Bank of Armenia awarded Best Partner award of AFI

YEREVAN, September 19. / ARKA /. Ms. Armenuhi Mkrtchyan, the head of the Center for Consumer Protection and Financial Education of the Central Bank of Armenia was elected the leader of the “Working Group on the Use of Skills of Consumers and Market Behavior,” thus being awarded the “Best Partner” award for the development and expansion of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI ), the press service of the regulator said.

The Sixth Conference of AFI, which was held in Trinidad and Tobago, recorded new achievements in the international field of financial inclusion. The conference was attended by more than 400 representatives of 121 agencies- members of AFI.

The forum participants stressed the importance of the use of the Armenian experience in the AFI member states, praising the work that was carried out in Armenia in the field of consumer protection and financial education.

Currently, the Central Bank of Armenia jointly with AFI is working to develop a methodology for assessing the financial capability to be used in the development and implementation of national strategies on financial education in AFI member states.

The Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) is the first global knowledge-sharing network designed exclusively for financial inclusion policymakers from developing countries. The network enables its members to share their knowledge as well as develop and implement financial inclusion policies that work.  AFI’s members are central banks and other financial regulatory institutions from more than 90 developing countries. -0-
