Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $116.7 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, September 29. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $116.7mln at a weighted average rate of 406.85rams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on September 22 to 27, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, 7.5 mln euros and about 1.1 bln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 520.37 drams per €1 and 10.47 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $119.3mln, about €22.2mln and 159.4mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 407.87drams, 523.28drams and 10.64drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (September 15-21) totaled about 31 bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $51.6mln. ($1=408.5drams). –0–
