Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $70.7 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $70.7 mln at a weighted average rate of 478.15 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on March 2 to 6, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 6.8 mln euros and about 661 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 533.08 drams per €1 and 7.70 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $84.1mln, €12.3mln and about 198.2 mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 479.68 drams, 536.78 drams and 7.91 drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (February 23-March 1) totaled about 31.7 bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $68.7mln. ($1=479.59drams). –0–
