Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $89.6 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $89.6 mln at a weighted average rate of 473.07 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on March 23 to 27, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 4.9 mln euros and about 618.5 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 513.53 drams per €1 and 8.01 drams per ruble respectively.
At the same time, about $92.6 mln, €7.6 mln and about 229.3 mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 475.36 drams, 519.36 drams and 8.26 drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (March 16-22) totaled about $37.3 bln; dollar loans amounted to a total of $56.8mln. ($1=471.63drams). –0–
