Underground mint found by Armenian police

YEREVAN, April 9. /ARKA/. Criminal investigation department officers in Armenia have found out an underground mint, the press office of the police reported on Thursday.

According to the press release, Tigran Yeganyan was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of money forgery. The police found 205 fake 10000-dram banknotes.

Yeganyan confessed his guilt. Later, the police, searching his apartments, found 236 forged 1000-dram banknotes, 153 A4 papers with samples of 1000-dram banknotes printed on them and other papers with samples of 10000-dram banknotes.

The police also detained another suspect, Tigran Avetyan, on the same day.

Both suspects are charged with forging banknotes and keeping and selling them. The matter is under investigation now. –0–
