Gold price declines amid dollar strength

YEREVAN, May 19. /ARKA/. Gold price is dropping on Tuesday amid the strengthening of US dollar, according to the trading data.

As of 7:50 Moscow time, Comex fell by 6.10 dollars or 0.5% to 1,221.50 dollars per Troy ounce at New-York stock exchange. July silver futures dropped 1.14% to 17.53 dollars per ounce.

Stronger dollar puts pressure on prices for commodities traded in USD. As of 7:50 Moscow time, dollar index rose by 0.05% to 94.21 points, RIA Novosti reported.

Investors expect a release of the minutes of Fed meetings of April 28-29. The regulator kept the basic rate at a record low 0-0.25% per annum at its last sitting. –0–
