ISIN international identification code to be assigned to Armenian government bonds

YEREVAN, July 22. /ARKA/. The Armenian government decided Thursday to start assigning short-term, mid-term and long-term government bonds ISIN international identification code corresponding to ISO 6166 standard.

The government intends to spur the government bond market at primary and secondary markets.

The identification code is assigned to ensure circulation of bonds in international depository systems and to enhance availability of the government bond market to foreign investors.

As a result of this decision, Armenia’s government treasury bonds will become more recognizable in international depository system. -0—
