Central bank to shut down six departments

YEREVAN, October 20. /ARKA/. A local daily ‘Hraparak’ (Square) says in its today’s issue that Armenia’s Central Bank will eliminate six departments before December 2016 and consequently layoffs are expected.

The daily says it is not known who of the staff will be cut. Meanwhile, in response to a question from the newspaper, the deputy chairman of the Central Bank Nerses Yeritsyan said he had no such information. -0-

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) plans to invest $310 million in two projects in Armenia and to co-finance a $500 million housing construction project, Don Lambert,  ADB Country Director for Armenia, said in response to ARKA News Agency's question whether the previously announced two projects would be implemented and whether new ones were expected.
