Around $69.8 million bought by Armenian banks last week

YEREVAN, May 29. /ARKA/. Armenia’s commercial banks bought around $69.8 million from the local foreign currency market on May 22 to 26 at the average weighted exchange rate of 481.47 drams per one USD, the Central Bank of Armenia reported on Monday.

It said the banks also bought 7.5 million euros and 877.1 million Russian rubles at the average weighted exchange rates of 537.52 and 8.47 drams per one euro and one ruble respectively.

The banks also sold about $78 million, € 14.4 million and 418.8 million rubles at average weighted exchange rates of 482.84, 542.36 and 8.59 drams respectively.

Dollar exchange transactions totaling $200 000 have been effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange over the mentioned period at 482 drams per one dollar.

In addition, from May 15 to 21, the banks provided 49.2 billion drams worth loans in the national currency and $28.9 million worth loans in USD. ($ 1- AMD 481.77 drams). –0—-
