ARMENIAN DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AND WB REGIONAL DIRECTOR DISCUSS ARMENIA’S SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ISSUES

YEREVAN, May 21. /ARKA/.  Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received World Bank Regional Director for Sustainable Development in Europe and Central Asia Sameh Wahba.

During the meeting the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the main directions and prospects of cooperation between the Armenian Government and the World Bank aimed at sustainable development, the press service of the Government reports.  

The sides particularly touched upon the content and implementation of the housing program for the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh.

It with about $2.7 billion in assistance through the International Development Association, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and trust funds. The WB is currently financing 10 projects in Armenia with a total value of $500 million.=-=

The total net profit (after tax) of Armenian credit institutions in 2025 amounted to 56.87 billion drams, compared to 19.50 billion drams in 2024 (an increase of 2.9-fold, or 191.6%).
