WB Regional Director names conditions for Armenia’s inclusive economic growth

YEREVAN, 29 May. /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received on Wednesday a delegation led by World Bank Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Asad Alam, the government press service reported.
The Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the government’s priorities and reforms in such areas as economic growth, capital market development, improvement of human capital and critical infrastructures, emphasizing the importance of applying the best international experience and knowledge in these areas with the participation of the World Bank, the report said.
In the context of achieving the set goals of inclusive economic growth, Alam emphasized the need to attract public and private investment, consistent promotion of green economy and digital transformation.
An agreement was reached to continue and substantially cooperate in these directions. About WB programs in Armenia
Since the beginning of its activities in Armenia in 1992, the World Bank has provided Armenia with about $2.7 billion in assistance through the International Development Association (IDA), the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and trust funds.
The WB is currently financing 10 projects in Armenia with a total value of $500 million. -0-
