Armenian dram strengthened against dollar by 3% since the beginning of 2025 – WB review

YEREVAN, July 28. /ARKA/. Since the beginning of 2025, the Armenian dram has strengthened against the US dollar by 3%, according to the World Bank’s monthly review “Armenia Monthly Economic Update. July 2025”.

“At the same time, during June, the dram slightly devalued against the US currency, while remaining stronger than in June 2024. On a monthly basis, the dram weakened by 0.1% against the US dollar and by 3.7% m/m against the euro,” the WB study says.

The Central Bank of Armenia’s settlement rates as of January 3, 2025 were – $1 – 396.9 drams, €1 – 408.17 drams, and as of June 30, respectively: $1 – 384.47 drams, €1 – 450.83 drams.

Armenian banks’ net profit in Q1 2026 increased by 2.3% to AMD 103.5 billion

As of April 23, 2026, the average exchange rate for the US dollar to the Armenian dram, established in the Armenian foreign exchange market, has fallen by 0.55 points from April 22, now standing at 371.83 drams.

Assets of Armenian banks increased by 16.67% to 13.15 trillion drams as of the end of Q1 2026

Total assets of Armenian banks as of March 31, 2026, amounted to 13.1 trillion drams, an increase of 16.67% compared to March 31, 2025.

Armenian banks’ loan portfolio in Q1 amounted to AMD 8.01 trillion, an increase of over 22%

As of March 31, 2026, the total loan portfolio of Armenian banks stood at AMD 8.01 trillion, marking a 22.63% rise compared to March 31, 2025, and a 4.05% increase from December 31, 2025.
