YEREVAN, July 22. /ARKA/. T-Bank customers in Armenia can now pay for purchases using QR codes through the mobile app, the bank’s press service announced.
To make a payment, simply scan the QR code located near the cash register or on the payment terminal. According to the bank, the service is available commission-free at most retail locations that support this payment method.
Opening a foreign currency account is not required to use the service. Rubles are converted to Armenian drams at T-Bank’s internal exchange rate at the time of the transaction. Customers can check the applicable exchange rate on the payment screen in the mobile app.
The maximum purchase amount is the equivalent of 1 million rubles. The service is available to customers who are citizens of Russia and countries the bank considers friendly.
In addition to Armenia, QR code payments via the T-Bank app are now available in Vietnam, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan. The company announced plans to expand the service’s geographic reach in the future.
