Net profit of Armenian credit institutions in the first half of 2026 decreased by 1.5 times to 21 billion drams

YEREVAN, August 6. /ARKA/. The total net profit (after tax) of Armenian credit institutions in the first half of 2026 amounted to 21.02 billion drams, compared to 30.73 billion drams in the first half of 2025 (a decline of 1.46 times, or 31.6%).

Profit before tax for the reporting period of the current year amounted to 25.13 billion drams, compared to 34.15 billion drams in the same period of the previous year.

At the same time, 10 of the 44 credit institutions operating in Armenia at the end of the first half of 2026 ended the year with a loss.

According to the consolidated indicators of the ARKA agency bulletin as of June 30, 2026:

— total assets of credit institutions amounted to AMD 905.17 billion (AMD 882.39 billion as of March 31, 2026, and AMD 861.12 billion as of December 31, 2025);

— liabilities – AMD 438.03 billion (AMD 424.36 billion as of March 31, 2026, and AMD 406.78 billion as of December 31, 2025);

— capital – AMD 467.14 billion (AMD 458.03 billion as of March 31, 2026, and AMD 454.34 billion as of December 31, 2025);

— Credit investments – 681.76 billion drams (670.76 billion drams as of March 31, 2026, and 660.44 billion drams as of December 31, 2025).
