Armenia’s total public debt as of June 2026 amounted to $13.9 billion

YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. Armenia’s total public debt as of June 30, 2026, amounted to $13,900.932 million, an increase of $8.476 million compared to May 31, 2026, according to a report by the Statistical Committee of Armenia.

On December 31, 2025, the public debt amounted to $13,906.036 million.

Meanwhile, in dram terms, as of June 30, 2026, the public debt amounted to 5,116,377.2 million drams, an increase of 1,452.7 million drams over the month. As of December 31, 2025, the national debt amounted to 5,303,205.8 million drams.

Of the total debt, $13,892.560 million is government debt (an increase of $8.424 million over the month), and $8.373 million is community debt (an increase of $0.052 million over the month). In dram equivalent, government debt increased by 1,434.4 million drams in June to 5,113,295.6 million drams, while community debt increased by 18.2 million drams to 3,081.6 million drams. In the government debt structure, external debt (including external loans and borrowings; government treasury bonds purchased by non-residents; government bonds in foreign currency purchased by non-residents) decreased by $26.648 million and amounted to $6,620.999 million at the end of June 2026, while internal debt (including government treasury bonds purchased by residents; government bonds in foreign currency purchased by residents) increased by $35.072 to $7,271.561 million. At the same time, in dram equivalent, the government’s external debt decreased by 10,605.6 million drams to 2,436,924.9 million drams, while internal debt increased by 12,040.1 million drams and amounted to 2,676,370.7 million drams.

In the community debt structure, external debt (including external loans and credits) decreased by $0.166 million to $7.961 million, while domestic debt (including domestic loans and credits; bonds purchased by residents) increased by $0.218 million and amounted to $0.411 million at the end of June. In dram equivalent, external debt decreased by 62.1 million drams to 2,930.3 million drams, while domestic debt increased by 80.3 million drams and amounted to 151.4 million drams at the end of June.

The Central Bank’s external debt amounted to $462.574 million (a decrease of $0.556 over the month) or 170,255.0 million drams in dram equivalent (a decrease of 260.3 million drams).
