YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. The Central Bank of Armenia and the National Bank of Georgia have signed a memorandum of understanding regarding financial cooperation.
According to the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia, the document aims to strengthen the stability of both countries’ financial systems, enhance the transparency and resilience of the financial sector, and protect the legitimate interests of depositors and investors.
The memorandum establishes procedures for the exchange of information between the parties regarding financial sector regulation and supervision. Cooperation will cover the licensing and supervision of financial institutions, market conduct and consumer protection, competition and crisis management, payment systems, securities markets, crypto-asset services, financial technologies, monetary policy, and other areas.
The document creates a solid foundation for the effective exchange of information and expertise between the two central banks, as well as for the implementation of joint programs.
