President Serzh Sargsyan leaves for Belarus to take part in Eurasian Economic Council’s meeting

YEREVAN, November 26, /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has left today for Minsk, Belarus, on a two-day visit to take part in the meeting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Cooperation, the presidential press office said.

Armenia has the observer status in this organization. The president is accompanied by finance minister Tigran Davtian, transport and communications minister Gurgen Sarkisian and other government officials.

The Interstate Council’s meeting is scheduled for November 27. Presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus plan to sign a package of documents to launch their joint Customs Union. The participants will also discuss the status of implementation of joint efforts for overcoming the consequences of the global financial crisis. -0-
