Armenian Central Bank issues commemorative coin dedicated to jazz

YEREVAN, July 15,  /ARKA/. Armenia’s Central Bank has put into circulation a commemorative silver coin dedicated to jazz. The issue is part of international numismatic project. The Central Bank said in a press release that it has issued 10,000 coins with a nominal value 1000 Drams each.

The obverse of the coin depicts a jazz band and stylized instruments. Along the outer circle there are the words Republic of Armenia in Armenian and English. The denomination is depicted on the lower part of the obverse. Left of it is  the date of issue-2010.

The reverse of the coin depicts stylized musical instruments and notes. The upper part has the word  Maestoso. The lower part has the words ‘jazz’ in Armenia and English. The coins were issued by a mint in Germany.  -0-
