Minasyan: inflation in Armenia to keep subsiding also in 2011

YEREVAN, October 8. /ARKA/. Inflation in Armenia will keep subsiding also in 2011, Gagik Minasyan, chairman of Armenian National Assembly’s finance committee, said Friday at a news conference.

He said 0.2% deflation was reported in Armenia in August.

Minasyan thinks this indicator inspires hope for further improvement of situation.

He said that the country recorded 7.7% year-on-year inflation in Jan-Aug 2010.

“We think annual inflation will reach 5.5% this year and subside to 5.3% in 2011,” the lawmaker said.

In the 2010 government budget, inflation is projected at 4% (±1.5%). -0-
