6.9% Unemployment In Armenia In Late December 2010

YEREVAN, January 19. /ARKA/. Unemployment rate in Armenia fell to 6.9% by late December 2010 from 7.1% in the beginning of the year, Labor and Social Welfare Ministry says in its annual report released on Wednesday.

According to the report, there were 93,555 job-seekers in Armenia by late December. Some 79,237 of them enjoyed the unemployment status.

Some 11,315 people found jobs. Of them, 26.2% are young people.

Some 27,764 jobless people were eligible to receive unemployment benefit.

The number of people receiving the unemployment benefit was 24,546 instead of the projected 21,000-0—
