Median Armenian nominal wage in Q one drops by 0.5%

YEREVAN, May 24. / ARKA /. The median nominal wage in the first quarter of 2011 dropped by 0.5% year-on-year to 108,248 drams, the National Statistical Service said today in a report called Food Security and Poverty in Armenia in January-March 2011.

The highest median wage of 134,500 drams was reported in the southern province of Syunik and the lowest median wage of 75,200 drams in central Aragatsotn province. In the capital city Yerevan it was 118,500 drams. The unemployment level in the first three months of 2011 was said to have fallen by 0.4 percentage point from the beginning of the year to 6.6%. -0-
