Transactions In Arca Payment System In July Exceed 44.2 Billion AMD

YEREVAN, August 19. /ARKA/. The amount of transactions made within ArCa (Armenian Card) payment system in July of 2011 exceeded 44.2 billion drams, a 4.5% increase from the previous month of June, ArCa told ARKA news agency.

Overall 917,412 transactions were made in July by ArCa cards, which was 0.3% more than in June.Some 877,188 transactions were made by using cards issued by ArCa system’s members, including also MasterCard, Visa cards valued at 41.6 billion drams. The growth from June was 4%.

The number of transactions made by suing Visa cards, issued by members of the system, grew by 12% to 24, 966 transactions worth 1.6 billion drams. And 15,228 transactions were made by using MasterCard cards valued 1.1 million drams. The growth from June was 13 4%.

In general, 784,891 cash transactions were made in July worth 40.2 billion drams, which was 4.7% more than in June, as well as 132,521 non-cash transaction worth 4.02 billion drams, by 2.4% more than in June.

The average size of a single transaction amounted to 48,200 drams, a single cash transaction to 51,270 drams and a non-cash transactions to 30,400 drams.

Armenian Card (ArCa) payment system was founded March 16, 2000 as a unified national system of payments by payment cards. To date, 19 out of 21 commercial banks in the country are involved in the ArCa payment system.
