EBRD Forecasts 4-5% Growth Of Armenian Economy And 5% Inflation In 2011

YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forecasts that economic growth in Armenia in 2011 will be about 4-5% and inflation – about 5%, said member of delegation of EBRD Board of Directors Kurt Bayer answering the questions of ARKA News Agency.

“Inflation (in Armenia) reduces. In total, the assessment of EBRD is very close to the assessment of the Government of Armenia”, said Bayer in the press-conference on Wednesday.

In accordance with the forecast of the Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, economic growth in the country in 2011 will be twice more by 2.6% than the indicator of the last year.

According to the forecasts of the Central Bank of Armenia, by the end of this year, with a probability of 74.2% inflation will be 3-5.5%.

According to the state budget of Armenia for 2011, GDP growth in Armenia is planned on the level of 4.6% and inflation – on the level of 4% (±1.5%). –0–
