Bank VTB (Armenia) funded participation of Armenia chamber choir in Saint Petersburg festival

YEREVAN, 10 November. / ARKA /. Bank VTB (Armenia) said it had provided financial assistance to Armenian State Chamber Choir to travel to Russian St. Petersburg and perform as a guest of honor at the XI Festival “International Conservatoire Week”, one of the most prestigious music events in Russia.

The event held October 21-28, attracted musical groups from Russia, Armenia, Latvia, USA, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Finland, Norway and Israel.

“Bank VTB (Armenia) traditionally supports arts. We are proud that since its inception here 5 years ago the bank has been showing support to organization of concerts of world-famous bands and musicians in Armenia, including the Bolshoi Theatre Ballet, Moscow Virtuosos orchestra, legendary French composer Michel Legrand and many others,” Bank VTB (Armenia) CEO, Valery Ovsyannikov was quoted as saying in a press release.

Armen Arabyan, the director of the State Chamber Choir of Armenia, was quoted as saying that the choir performed brilliantly in St. Petersburg. Arabyan said the singers were given very warm welcome by the Armenian community of St. Petersburg and local music lovers. On behalf of the choir he thanked the bank for its generous help without which they would have hardly participated in the festival.

The State Chamber Choir of Armenia was founded in 2000 with the assistance of the charitable association “Vatche and Tamar Manukean.” In 2008, it was awarded the status of the National Chamber Choir of Armenia. -0-
