Armenian Central Bank to put into circulation new banknotes

YEREVAN, June 22. /ARKA/. The Armenian Central Bank said today it will put into circulation new banknotes on June 25 with face value of 5000, 10,000 and 20, 000 drams.

“The new banknotes are legal tender of payment in the territory of Armenia and are subject to acceptance by their face value,” the Central Bank said in a statement.

The Central Bank will also put into circulation commemorative coins with nominal value of 50 drams, devoted to Armenia’s provinces and the capital city Yerevan. According to the Central Bank, commemorative coins are legal tender of payment. Fifty dram coins issue din 2003 will remain in circulation without restrictions and change, it said. -0-
