Armenia’s insurance premiums to surge 66% to AMD 36.8bln in 2012-2014

YEREVAN, October 11. /ARKA/. The insurance premiums in Armenia are expected to rise by 66% to 36.8 billion drams in 2012-2014 from 2011, according to the outlook of insurance companies, the Central Bank reports.

As a result, an insurance premium per capita in December 2014 will have reached 11, 511 drams, which is close to the indicators of the developing countries.
The total capital of Armenia’s insurance system is projected to account 19 billion drams at 2014’s our, which is higher by  5.1 billion from 2011. The increase in capital will be mainly prompted by 72.8% retained earnings.

Hike in assets of the insurance companies is expected to reach 10.3% annually. It will raise them by 10.8 billion drams to 42.2 billion drams by December 2014.
At the same time, according to the outlook, an average annual climb of the banking deposits in assets of insurance companies will be 12.4% to 49.9% as of 31 December 2014 versus 47.3% in December 2011, and in securities- 20.2% to 21.2% as of 31 December 2014 against 16.4% in 2011.

Liabilities of Armenia’s insurance system, according to the outlook, will total 24.2 billion drams in 2014, which is higher by 5.7 billion drams from 2011. —0-
