Armenian Central Bank stops rating some companies

YEREVAN, November 1. /ARKA/. The Central Bank of Armenia has stopped rating some companies, the regulator’s press office reported on Thursday.

In particular, it will no longer rate Tamara LLC on the company’s initiative (the company got “G-“ rating on February 25, 2011), Yerevan Poultry Farm OJSC because of reorganization of the company (its rating was “D+” on Dec 22, 2010) and Fero LLC after it decided to shut down (its rating was “D+” on February 26,2010).

The central bank has also given “G+” rating to SAS Group LLC.

The central bank started rating Armenian companies in September 2005. The regulator then gave ratings to 30 companies, of which only 15 got high ratings.

In accordance with the principles set, the central bank unveils only the names of those companies which get high ratings, while low-rated companies are named only by their consent. -0—
