Foreign currency household deposits 415.6 bln drams in Armenia by end-September

YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. Foreign currency household deposits in Armenian commercial banks totaled in 415.6 bln drams by the end of September 2012, the website of Armenia’s Central Bank reports.

According to the report, it is a 1.6 percent increase as compared to the month before.

Foreign currency time deposits by households were over 345.8 bln drams by the end of September or about 83.2% of the overall foreign currency household deposits, a 1.43% increase compared to August.

Local currency (AMD) household deposits were about 172.8 bln drams in Armenia by the end of September, a 0.1% increase against the previous month.

Overall deposits in commercial banks were over 1165,1 drams, which is a 3.7% increase against August.

As of 30 September 2012 there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia. ($1 – 407.30 drams).—0–
