Over amd 6.2 billion paid by three Armenian insurers in 2012 on obligatory car insurance policies

YEREVAN, February 15. /ARKA/. Three Armenian insurance companies paid more than AMD 6.2 billion in 2012 on obligatory car insurance policies (67.2% of about AMD 9.2 billion, the total amount of the 2012 insurance market’s compensations), according to the information available on the website of Armenian Car Insurers’ Bureau.

Rosgosstrakh-Armenia paid AMD 2.85 billion – the largest amount in obligatory car insurance compensations.

Ingo Armenia paid AMD 2.1 billion and RESO more than AMD 1.2 billion. The three leading companies received 30,421 applications.

The obligatory car insurance was instituted in Armenia on January 1, 2011.

The Central Bank of Armenia has been controlling the country’s insurance market since Jan 1, 2006. ($1-AMD 406.6). -0–
