Losses of Armenia’s Commercial Banks amount to 879 million drams at end February

YEREVAN, April 15. /ARKA/. Losses of Armenia’s commercial banks totalled 879 million drams as of the end of February 2013 as compared to a total profit of 3.6 billion as of the end of February 2012, Armenia’s central bank reports.

Commercial banks’ total assets were about 2,546.7 billion drams as of the end of February, as compared to 2,021.9 billion drams at the end of February 2012, according to central bank’s monthly handbook for February.

Total liabilities of Armenian banks grew to 2,148.2 billion drams against 1,664.5 billion drams at end February 2012.

Total capital of Armenia’s commercial bank rose 11.5% to 398.4 billion drams in the reporting period.

There were 21 commercial banks registered in Armenia as of February 28, 2013. ($1 – 417.40 drams). –0–
