Armenian parliament passes amendment on export lending insurance

YEREVAN, May 2. /ARKA/. Armenian parliament approved, in final reading, the amendments to the insurance law that envisage insurance companies with government participation.

The aim of the amendments is to create opportunities for establishing an export lending insurance agency, Armenia’s acting minister of economy Tigran Davtyan said.

Export lending insurance is foreseen under the government export support strategy.
The agency is expected to become an instrument of support to a greater number of exporters, Davtyan said.

It is expected that the agency will start financing itself and operating under market economy in the next stage, the acting minister said. –0—
