EBRD outgoing director for Caucasus, Moldova and Belarus introduces his successor to Armenian Central Bank governor

YEREVAN, May 3. / ARKA /. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) director for Caucasus, Moldova and Belarus, Paul-Henri Forestier, who is completing his mission, met with the chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Arthur Javadyan on Friday to introduce his successor Bruno Palvaneru, the press service of the Central Bank said to ARKA.

Javadyan thanked Forestiere for effective cooperation and expressed hope that his successor will help strengthen further bilateral relations.

Javadyan appreciated highly the results of EBRD’s activities in Armenia, which since its inception here has been playing a big role in promoting sustainable economic development of the country by investing in agriculture, energy, transport, municipal and environmental infrastructure, telecommunications and the financial sectors.

Forester expressed his gratitude for the cooperation, noting the high level of cooperation recorded in recent years between EBRD and the banking sector of Armenia, aided by the efforts of the Central Bank.

Since the beginning of its activities in Armenia EBRD has invested around 579 million euros in 110 projects, of which EUR 90 million were directed towards improvement of infrastructures. -0-
