Euro gains against dollar on Euro zone industry statistics

YEREVAN, June 13. /ARKA/. Euro gained versus dollar at the end of trading day Wednesday on released Euro zone industry production statistics for April that was better than experts’ expectations, banki.ru reported.

Euro rose to 1.3337 dollars per euro from 1.3313 dollars Tuesday. Yen rate versus dollar changed slightly to 96.01, compared to 96.02 the day before.

Euro zone industry production rose by 0.4% in April against March and dropped by 0.6% in yearly terms. Analysts expected the month-to-month level would not change and industry production would shrink by 1.2% compared to April last year.

The statistics inspires hopes that considerable improvement will take place in the sector in the second quarter, chief UK and Europe economist of IHS Global Insight Howard Archer told Bloomberg.–0–
