Interbank loans in Armenia downed 13.7% to over AMD 44.2 bln late April

YEREVAN, June 21./ARKA/. Interbank loans in Armenia totaled in over 44.2 billion drams as of late April, which was 13.7% lower from March, the Central Bank said in its newsletter.

AMD interbank loans rose by 30% to nearly 8.5 billion drams. Interbank loans in foreign currency slashed by 8.3% to over 35.7 billion drams.

Lending to credit organizations climbed by 16.5% in April to 10.4 billion drams.

Loan investments in credit organizations surged by 28.7% in April from March to about 3.6 billion drams. Loans in foreign currency upped by 10.9% to over 6.8 billion drams as of late April.

As of 30 April 2013, there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia. ($1 – 410.41 drams). —0-
