Armenia’s commercial banks purchase over $89.4mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased more than $89.4mln at a weighted average rate of 406.37drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on August 12-16, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 6.2mln euros and over 830.6mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 539.40drams per €1 and 12.24drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $99.6mln, about €9.2mln and about 89.3mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 407.57drams, 543.02drams and 12.41drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (August 5-11) totalled 28.2bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $38.9mln. ($1=406.42drams). –0–
