Net inflow of individual transfers to Armenia grows 15% to AMD 147.5 billion in 2nd Q 2013

YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. Net inflow of individual transfers to Armenia via international money transfer systems grew 15% in the second quarter of this year, compared with the same quarter of the previous year, to AMD 147.5 billion, the Central Bank of Armenia reports in a fresh issue of its quarterly bulletin.

According to it, 821,000 transfers have been operated over the mentioned period. The money transferred to Armenia exceeded 7.5 times the amount sent outside.

The average amount of one transfer was AMD 207,000.

Commercial banks paid AMD 59.1 billion to individuals on correspondent accounts in the second quarter of this year – 24% year-on-year contraction.

The average size of one payment was AMD 4.3 million (more than the 2nd Q 2012 payment by AMD 1.1 million).

Individuals’ transfers abroad on correspondent accounts totaled AMD 57.3 billion (26% year-on-year decline). ($1 – AMD 409.61). —-0—-
