Armenia’s Commercial Banks purchase over $81mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased more than $81mln at a weighted average rate of 405.19 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on October 21-25, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 5.7mln euros and over 849mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 554.51drams per €1 and 12.63drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $95.4 mln, about €9.9 mln and about 118.9 mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 406.26drams, 558.34drams and 12.82drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (October 14-20) totalled 34.6bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $36.9mln. ($1=405.84drams).  –0–
