Armenian Central Bank sold $13.95 million at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange

YEREVAN, March 24. / ARKA /. Armenian Central Bank said it had sold $13.95 million at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange from March 17 to March 23, down from $16.37 million sold a week earlier.

The average weighted exchange rate of USD in that time span was 415.33. The regulator has been making periodic currency market interventions from the start of the year.

In particular, foreign currency interventions were made on a weekly basis since the beginning of February. Since then the regulator has sold $126.8 million to help the national currency to preserve its value.

According to the Central Bank, from the beginning of the year the average exchange rate of the U.S. dollar against the Armenian national currency rose by 2%. ($ 1 – 414.37 drams). -0-
