Business environment index in Armenia rose to 57.1 in Q2

YEREVAN, August 1. /ARKA/. Armenia’s business environment index for the second quarter rose by 1.2 percentage points to 57.1 compared to Q1, the press office of the Central Bank of Armenia reports.

At the same time, the index rose by 1.9 percentage points compared to the same period of the year before.

The index hike is caused by increase of all aggregates, including industry, trade and services. Industry indicator rose by 1.3 percentage points to 58.1; trade index and services index were 60.9 (increase of 3.4p.p.) and 61.9 (increase of 6.4p.p.) respectively.

According to the central bank, the construction indicator declines by 7.6 percentage points to 45.8 compared to the previous quarter.

Business environment index is calculated based on averaged assessments of economic condition and risk changes by organizations. In 2014 the central bank reviewed the methodology of the calculation and merged business environment and business activity indices together into one index of business environment.

Since the beginning of 2005 the central bank has been conducting quarterly polls among non-financial and financial organizations and households. –0–
