Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $91 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, October 20./ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $91 million at a weighted average rate of 410.41rams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on October 13-17, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, 6.9 mln euros and about 1.1 bln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 520.42 drams per €1 and 10.02 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $103.3mln, €14.9mln and 155.2mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 411.51drams, 524.25drams and 10.18drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (October 6-12) totaled about 33.7bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $34.2mln. ($1=409.3drams). –0–
