Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $61.1 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $64.1 mln at a weighted average rate of 475.48 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on February 2 to 6, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 5.2 mln euros and about 606.1 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 538.96 drams per €1 and 6.91 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $82.4mln, €9.3mln and about 214.7mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 477.58 drams, 545.78drams and 7.17drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (January 26 – February 1) totaled about 36.6bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $26.4mln. ($1=477.46drams). –0–
