Head of Armenia’s central bank to attend GAF observers group meeting in Frankfurt

YEREVAN, April 9. /ARKA/. The chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Artur Javadyan will participate in the regular meeting of the German-Armenian Fund (GAF) observers’ group in Frankfurt, the press office of the regulator reported.

Implementation of loan programs funded by the German KfW (Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau), as well as issues of German-Armenian cooperation in finance will be discussed at the meeting.

As part of his visit Javadyan is expected to meet with head of some financial institutions, according to the report.

The German KfW bank has been assisting Armenia in the implementation of various projects since 1995. Its representation opened in the country in 1998. KfW ‘s activities in Armenia are focused on energy, water,  financial and banking systems as well as private sector.

The German-Armenian Fund (GAF) was established by the two governments in 1998 to support the small-sized businesses in Armenia. A management office was opened for the GAF programs in Armenia in September 2011. –0—
