Armenia’s monetary base down 0.8 percent in august to 876.6 billion drams

YEREVAN, October 2. / ARKA /. The monetary base in Armenia in 2015 August fell 0.8% from July to about 876.6 billion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said

Citing preliminary data of the Central Bank the NSS said cash outside the Central Bank at the end of August stood at more than 381.7 billion drams against 397.5 billion drams in July.

It also said correspondent accounts in the national currency, the dram, were worth about 305.6 billion drams against nearly 313.1 billion drams in late July, while correspondent accounts in foreign currency were worth the equivalent of 186.9 billion drams, up from 170 billion drams at the end of July.

Armenia’s net international reserves (without privatization funds) at the end of August stood at more than 445.8 billion drams, having decreased by 6% from July.

The amount of net domestic assets in the reporting period amounted to approximately 430.9 billion drams against 408.8 billion drams at the end of July. ($ 1- 472.85 drams). -0-
