Armenian banks bought $70.5 million last week from local Forex market

YEREVAN, October 26. / ARKA /. Twenty-one Armenia-based commercial banks bought a total of $70.5 million from the local forex market from 19th to 23rd of October at the average weighted exchange rate of 470.67 drams per one US Dollar, the Central Bank of Armenia said today.

It said the banks also bought 7.9 million Euros and 915.1 million Russian rubles at the average weighted exchange rates of 531.62 and 7.51 drams respectively.

In the same time span they sold about $68.8 million, 14.4 million Euros and about 279.1 million Russian rubles at the average weighted exchange rates of 472.43, 533.8 and 7.65 drams respectively.
Besides, from 12th to 18th of October, the banks provided 39.6 billion drams worth loans in the Armenian national currency and $69 million worth loans in US Dollars. ($ 1 – 469.79 drams). -0-
